Choose the format that fits the job

JPG is a practical choice for photographs and widely supported uploads. PNG preserves transparency and uses lossless encoding, although converting an already lossy image to PNG does not restore lost detail. WebP supports transparency and often produces smaller web images. The best choice depends on the picture and where it will be used.

A few practical tips

  • Convert WebP to JPG for an app or upload that does not accept WebP.
  • Use PNG to preserve transparent backgrounds, sharp diagrams, and screenshots.
  • JPG does not support transparent pixels. Pick a background color before converting.
  • Try WebP for web images, then compare the reported output size with the original.

Before you get started

Can I convert WebP to JPG or PNG?

Yes. Add your WebP files and select JPG or PNG as the output. JPG replaces transparency with the selected background color; PNG preserves it.

Does PNG output improve a blurry JPG?

No. PNG uses lossless encoding for the pixels it receives, but it cannot recover information that was already discarded by JPG compression.

Why does the output file have a different size?

Each format uses a different encoding method. PNG output can be much larger than a photographic JPG. JPG and WebP quality settings also affect file size.

Can I convert HEIC, SVG, GIF, or animated images?

This tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP. HEIC, SVG, and GIF are not supported. Animated PNG or WebP inputs are flattened to the frame decoded by your browser; animations are not preserved.

Are my images uploaded or stored?

No. Image decoding, editing, and exports run on this device. Image files and results stay in page memory and are cleared when you clear the queue or close the page. These image tools load no external analytics or advertising scripts. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them.

What are the image limits?

You can add up to 20 files, 20 MB per file, and 100 MB combined. Each image and output is limited to 32 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side. Camera metadata is not copied to the re-encoded output. Animation, original color profiles, and metadata are not preserved. Use a current browser for the best format support.
